I posted a week or so ago to say that we understood that our petition would be discussed by Greenwich Council, but we now understand it will be heard 21st March at the earliest.
I don't want to grumble about this - I really understand some of the problems in scheduling meetings. In fact it gives us at least another seven weeks to get more signatures -we reached 2000 earlier this week and can do better still with time!
We will be able to make a brief contribution to the Council - so, what do you think we should say to them! Remember that the ex-museum and archive are managed by the Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust - but there is a complicated story about premises and ownerships past and present. Also remember that, like all Councils, Greenwich is going to be very worried about money and needing to meet legal obligations.
But - we would welcome ideas - Greenwich Industrial History Society has a Facebook page and you could leave a message there or email indhistgreenwich@aol.com.
and -thank you everybody
