This post is to explain what is happening following the Greenwich Council meeting on 6th December.

Cllr.Maisie Richards Cottell delivered our petition on the archive to the Council meeting last night. And thank you very very much to her for that.

What normally happens is that the Council officers produce a "written answer" to the next meeting or one soon after. Then the petitioner gets a chance to speak from the public gallery.

That's all fine - but we have a problem and that is Christmas. Normally Council meetings follow at regular intervals through the year. But it to fit in twoish weeks of merrymaking the December Council meeting was held very early and the January one will be very late - a 7 week gap instead of the normal 4.

To get the Council's response to the petition reasonably early next year we had to take it to the meeting last night- but many people and organisations are still urging people to sign.

So - we have decided to keep the petition open for signatures on the Change website. If people sign now their names won't go to the Council but we will be able to announce the final figures - so they will count, but "unofficially."   And we will be ever so grateful.

Hope this is all ok.

Just get friends and relations and colleagues and acquiantancies and every one else to sign.   And thank you very very much
