Urge GoodVets to Stop Allowing Declawing In Their Vet Clinics

Urge GoodVets to Stop Allowing Declawing In Their Vet Clinics
The Issue
GoodVets, a company known for its commitment to providing best-in-class veterinary care, proudly states on its website, "Healthy pets start with empowered vets...the best possible care (and the best possible treats)." Their CEO, Ryan Joseph, was praised in a 2020 interview with DVM360 for pushing the boundaries in veterinary care and promoting animal welfare.
However, allowing declawing contradicts these noble principles. The procedure can lead to chronic pain, behavioral changes, and long-term health issues for cats, compromising their quality of life and contradicting GoodVets’ mission of providing 'the best veterinary care.'
CitytheKitty.org did a small survey of 16 GoodVet clinics and found only two in Florida that perform declawing and both are owned by the same declawing veterinarian.
All the other GoodVet clinics we surveyed say they don't declaw cats because it's inhumane, it's painful, it's like cutting off the tips of their fingers, and it's harmful to a cat.
It should be easy for the leaders of GoodVets, CEO Ryan Joseph and Chief Medical Officer Dr Antonio DeMarco, to honor the mission of their company and stop allowing this barbaric cat cruelty in the very few clinics that are still performing it. More about GoodVets and declawing in our story. https://citythekitty.org/goodvets-com-says-they-provide-best-in-class-medicine-the-best-veterinary-care-but-they-allow-declawing/
By inspiring GoodVets to discontinue this cruel and inhumane practice, we not only help improve the quality of life for countless cats in Del Ray and Boyton Beach Florida, but also encourage a shift towards more humane and ethical veterinary care standards throughout America. GoodVets has the opportunity to join all the other big veterinary companies who banned declawing and be a leader in compassionate veterinary practices, aligning its actions with its promise of best-in-class medicine.
Stand with us in compelling GoodVets to enhance its standards of care by putting an end to declawing in their clinics.
Sign this petition to advocate for the ethical treatment of our feline friends and urge GoodVets to truly empower its veterinarians to make decisions that enhance the lives of pets and uphold their commitment to providing the best care possible instead of this barbaric cat cruelty.
