My name is Adam and my parents, Gary and Karen Bell, have tragically severed my relationship with my son, Henry J. Cummings (6 years old), over the past few months. Ever since my son's birth, I have been an active presence in his life. We, along with my parents, have maintained a close relationship until recently. They’ve also changed his name behind my back, without asking me or Henry’s real mother Sam. When he was born we named him “Henry James Cummings” and my parents ARROGANTLY, changed it to “Henry Clinton Paul Bell” behind my back. 

Five months ago, my parents began insisting that my son refer to me as "Uncle Adam", while they had him start calling them “mom and dad,” This confusing shift was further exacerbated when, during a family vacation in Branson, back in spring break 2024, I overheard my mom telling my son that he came from her tummy. I made a Facebook post about this a few months ago and that’s when my parents severed my ties with Henry. That’s their way of retaliating against me. Using my son as a weapon to get their way.

This act towards my son is concerning as it can potentially disrupt a child's psyche. According to the American Psychological Association, role confusion and disrupted parent-child relationships can have long-lasting adverse effects on a child's emotional well-being.

I hope everyone who reads my story, to sign this petition in the hopes that it will help urge my parents to restore our previously harmonious family dynamic. My son deserves to know the truth about his parentage and should not be subjected to such misleading information which can potentially harm him emotionally, and for us to be reunited.
