Urge Forestry England to Revise Their National Pricing Structure for Outdoor Providers
The Issue
Join us in urging Forestry England to review its national pricing structure for woodland permits. Sign the petition today and help us ensure that Forestry England’s pricing structure is fair, transparent and proportionate for all. Together, we can ensure that we can continue to offer services that encourage everyone to enjoy these amazing forest spaces!
Forestry England is home to over 1,500 woods and forests that are cherished by millions of visitors each year. These lands provide an invaluable resource for outdoor providers, contributing significantly to our country’s tourism industry and local economies. However, the recent changes in their national pricing structure have meant huge increases in financial pressure on providers who have to effectively gift revenues to Forestry England, calling into question the viability of these operations.
According to a report from The Outdoor Industries Association (2018), outdoor recreation contributes £27 billion annually to the UK economy and supports 250,000 jobs nationwide. This demonstrates how crucial it is for businesses like ours - and many others - that rely on these natural resources and already help contribute to their upkeep.
We understand that maintaining these lands comes with its own costs. However, we believe there should be a fair balance between ensuring Forestry England’s sustainability and supporting businesses that contribute significantly towards local economies and communities’ well-being.
We are also deeply concerned that each region of Forestry England estate has different rules, making the system even more challenging and unfair.
Sign the petition today if you support a full National review of the pricing structure for woodland permits. Together, we can make a difference!
