As American citizens, we have been witnessing in disgust the indiscriminate cruelty the authorities in Washington are dispensing to noncitizens.  We do not condone these actions, but acknowledge it may take us some time to clean house.  In light of this, we urge FIFA to relocate all 2026 World Cup matches scheduled for US venues to Canada and Mexico instead.

The US has been under global scrutiny for the treatment of immigrants and visitors by ICE on orders from the current administration.  Random apprehensions and illegal deportations have become common, making international visitors feel unsafe.  Both Canada and Mexico have extensive experience hosting major international events, and would provide a safer, more stable environment for all concerned.

Please join us in calling upon FIFA to revisit its venue selections for 2026, and ensuring that they align with its values of inclusivity and mutual respect, and that the World Cup remains a celebration of sport, free from fear, prejudice and intimidation.
