I am a lifelong pet owner, particularly fond of cats, with a heart aching from witnessing the harsh realities of animal mortality. I have held the delicate life of a kitten, born too early, being claimed by the inevitable finale of death. I've felt the helpless torment of a mother cat, teetering on the brink, losses witnessed, but unable to prevent. Most importantly, I have felt the unbearable pain of loss wash over me, suffocating with the silence that comes after the kitten's cries cease, leaving only memories behind.

No life, certainly not one brimming with innocent and unconditional love, deserves such agony. This is not a scene from a hideous nightmare, but the harsh reality of life. At the same time, it's something we continue to fight against passionately, to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

Unfortunately, there is a Facebook page, hosted by a user who not only accepts this suffering but promotes violence and death of cats. Our social media platform, a place established for connection and shared understanding, is being used as a breeding ground for horrific cruelty.

How many insults, how many heartbreaks, how much more suffering and hatred must these animals endure before significant action is taken? Though Facebook's Community Standards explicitly state that "organizations with a record of violent criminal activity and organized hate are not allowed on Facebook", this page still exists, continued to flood with hatred and promoting violence, like a wound festering in the heart of our community.

This page is allowed to exists because they utilize images to bypass Facebooks algorithm on community standards. Almost every single post is either a picture or a meme with carefully crafted wording to avoid detection. They also harrass other Facebook users by posting the same kind of animal abuse commentary on other pages or discussions that have no connection to their page. While also trying to doxx anyone who makes a comment that's disagree with their cruel and deadly suggestions for cats.

I urge Mark Zuckerberg and his team to stand on the scale of justice and balance it towards the welfare of our furry friends. Instruct Facebook to disable this specific page that promotes violence and death towards cats and, most importantly, ban its creator from ever spreading such heinous content again.

Please, sign this petition and help cease the promotion of such abhorrent behaviour. If not for it engendering human decency, then for the cats that are needlessly scared, tortured, or killed.
