We are reaching out to the owner of X, Elon Musk, to address a growing concern—the pervasive presence of explicit adult content on the social media platform.

Pornography can have several negative effects on the brain, particularly when consumed frequently or at a young age. The constant exposure to explicit content can lead to changes in brain chemistry, especially in areas related to reward, pleasure, and addiction. Over time, this can desensitize the brain's natural responses to real-life sexual experiences, making them less satisfying and increasing the need for more extreme or novel content to achieve the same level of arousal.

Porn can also impact relationships, creating unrealistic expectations about sex and intimacy. It may distort perceptions of healthy sexual behavior and lead to issues with emotional connection and trust between partners. Additionally, excessive consumption can trigger feelings of shame, guilt, and isolation, especially when it becomes compulsive or interferes with daily life and responsibilities.

Studies suggest that long-term exposure to pornography may also affect decision-making, impulse control, and the brain's ability to form healthy, meaningful relationships. In extreme cases, it can contribute to the development of pornography addiction, leading to significant mental health challenges.

Statistics reveal that 88% of the most-viewed scenes on popular porn websites came from third-party users, with a considerable amount having been shared on social media platforms like X (The Journal of Communication, 2021). This not only promotes adult content to underage users who may have access to the platform, but it also raises concerns about content moderation and potential non-consensual dissemination of intimate imagery. It is vital that we protect the integrity of online platforms and safeguard the well-being of their users.
