Urge Electronic Arts to support Linux and Steam Deck for Battlefield 6
Urge Electronic Arts to support Linux and Steam Deck for Battlefield 6
La causa
Electronic Arts has built Battlefield into one of the world’s most iconic multiplayer franchises. As the gaming landscape evolves, so does the player base. Millions of gamers now use Linux-based systems, including Steam Deck owners, developers, engineers, and privacy-conscious users who rely on Linux as their primary operating system.
We, the undersigned members of the Battlefield community, respectfully request that Electronic Arts add official Linux support for Battlefield 6, either through native compatibility or officially supported Proton integration with full multiplayer and anti-cheat functionality.
Why This Matters
Linux gaming has grown significantly in recent years due to:
- Steam Deck adoption
- Improved Proton compatibility
- Increased cross-platform gaming ecosystems
- Rising developer and professional Linux usage
- Supporting Linux would allow more players to enjoy Battlefield 6 without requiring dual-boot setups or virtual machines.
Benefits to Electronic Arts
Adding Linux support would:
- Expand Battlefield 6’s potential player base
- Improve Steam Deck compatibility and handheld gaming reach
- Strengthen EA’s reputation for platform inclusivity
- Increase long-term community engagement
- Support accessibility and player choice
What We Are Asking For
We ask Electronic Arts to:
- Evaluate Linux platform compatibility for Battlefield 6
- Support Proton compatibility with working anti-cheat integration
- Provide transparency regarding Linux and Steam Deck plans
- Engage with the Linux gaming community
Battlefield has always pushed technical innovation. Supporting Linux would be another step forward toward a more inclusive and accessible gaming future.
If you believe in player choice, platform freedom, and expanding Battlefield’s reach, please sign and share this petition.
Together, we can make Battlefield 6 available to everyone.
Thank you for listening.
