I wanted to provide a better picture of the bus ramp/platform, whatever it is called.
Here you can see where the bus stopped and where the woman is standing. She now hast to walk to the bus.
That bus is stopped in traffic. People now have to wait for the bus driver to pick up and drop off pedestrians and go before they can continue with the ride. But they only get to go a few metres before they hit that three-way stop controlled intersection. And because they took away all free-flowing lanes traffic is seriously getting backed up. Which is hysterical because we have very little traffic here. The cities just made it so hard for people to get out of their Crescent to turn either direction that traffic is actually backing up in these areas. Today I noticed people on 127th Ave struggling to get across Hermitage Road. Luckily, a bus didn’t stop to pick up pedestrians or this poor guy turning left would’ve had to have waited much longer than he already did. I would find this hysterical if I didn’t live here. We’ve never had a traffic issue.
So let’s just Recap
We lost the buses at one end of Hermitage rd and garbage cans.
we lost a significant amount of parking on Hermitage rd.
we lost 2 driving lanes.
we gained
concrete barriers that did not make 2 months.
extreme traffic frustration among people who live here. Fair bit of honking and swerving into bike lanes.
Traffic congestion.
poles that are continuously being cut down and replaced. At our cost of course.
And a black lump from the sidewalk to in the middle of the road so everyone but bikers are inconvenienced.
i saw 7 cyclist today. All on the sidewalk except one was using the bike lane.
