today I saw some guys doing some work.

I asked him what’s going on and they said they’re building a ramp from the bus stop to the driving lane. This means whenever a bus is stopping to pick up or drop off passengers, all the vehicles behind them have to wait Because they took away our passing lanes.

The last two months there’s not been one day I’ve gone out where there hasn’t been cars honking. I have been a victim of road rage just walking because another car had to wait for me so they could turn the car behind him went ballistic started driving up and down the road, calling me all these names. 

The city had a meeting Where a lot of people went and claimed they did not want 15 cities, and the city guarantee them and not becoming a 15 minute. Well, he just announced Edmonton is becoming a 15 minute city. I do not have a problem with the concept of 15 cities, but if it’s the same they’re doing in the eastern province cities they start implementing fees for going in and out of your zone. Please do your research.

Back to the lanes, I asked them where they were getting the money from?

“It is from speeding tickets so don’t worry it’s not your property tax dollars”!

Any revenue should be used to maintain the city. It is still our money they are wasting I don’t care where it comes from. funds can be re-allocated for other areas. We need good streets and sidewalks. This is a mess.
I would encourage anyone thinking about moving to Edmonton to reconsider. No one should pay high property taxes like us, then get billed for extra city maintenance if a homeowners happens to be by a city sidewalk.

So we went from being a beautiful, slow pace little community to now constant road rage honking, following people too close. I just watched someone passing a bus lane trying to get by turning vehicles just today.

I truly encourage you come to Hermitage road and drive down to 40th St. Check out what’s going to happen in your neighbourhood. It is only a matter of time.
