Urge Digital Extremes to Re-Release or Release a Variant of Mag/Frost Heirloom Skins
The Issue
In early August 2023 while driving, I swerved to avoid hitting a cat, which caused my car to hit a boulder by the side of the road. The ensuing crash had my car flying through a pinetree, my seatbelt malfunctioned but thankfully I survived. Since then, my life has been a whirlwind of physical therapy, keeping up with school, and managing mounting medical bills. This meant my ability to spend on leisure activities, like gaming, was severely limited. Warframe, a game I've cherished and grown up with, was one of those activities I had to sacrifice due to the circumstances.
Frost and Mag where some of my first warframes, I actually picked up this game back when I was in HS just after Frost Prime Released, he was my first prime frame so ive always kept a special spot for him.
Warframe has been more than just a game; it's been a sanctuary for me during challenging times. A chance tune out all the stress and anxiety and spend hours mixing and matching diferent pretty colors in fashion frame or just mindlessly hunting that next big red number when you crit on some poor grineer lancer. Durring those weeks I spent in the hospital I’d see warframe clips online and feel the urge to hop back on if only I could have moved my fingers at the time.
I know there has to be many players that have stories similar to mine, where life circumstances have prevented them from engaging with or investing in the game they love. With the halt of purchases for the Mag/Frost Heirloom Skins and Signas in December of 2023, many of us missed out on acquiring these cherished items due to unforeseen life events.
We request that Digital Extremes consider re-releasing or releasing a non limited time variant the Mag/Frost Heirloom Skins and Signas. Bringing back these items would be controversial but the release of these items under limited time was controversial in the first place. Players who have supported Warframe through thick and thin would have another opportunity to enjoy their beloved game fully. Players who continue to find their way back to this beloved IP would have another opportunity to get to these beautiful cosmetics, or perhaps a chance earn cosmetics of similar quality.
Digital Extremes has always been a company that listens to its community, and we trust that they value the stories and experiences of their players. By releasing these skins, they would not only be acknowledging the loyalty of their player base but also offering a second chance to those who, for reasons beyond their control, missed the opportunity the first time around. Br releasing variants of these skins they may honor the time limited availability of the OGs while recognizing the fans who missed out.
Please join me in urging Digital Extremes to reconsider their decision, and help open the door once more for us to fully engage with our beloved Sol system. Sign this petition to show your support for the Warframe community.
