The Issue

I am deeply concerned about the planned visit of President Donald Trump to the Medinah Country Club in Bloomingdale Township from September 24-27, 2026. This event is not just another political gathering; it stands as a symbol of divisiveness and discord in our community.

As someone who cherishes the values of peace, solidarity, and democratic principles, I can't sit idly by. I am rallying for a clear and principled response from our elected Democratic officials. Our ask is straightforward: that they pledge not to attend or participate in any events at the Medinah Country Club during this duration.

This gathering sends a message contrary to the inclusive and progressive values we hold dear. By choosing not to participate, our Democratic leaders have the opportunity to stand firmly on the side of unity and strength through peaceful protest.

The spirit of our democracy thrives on debate and diversity of thought. However, it is equally essential that our representatives take stances reflecting principles of love, the fight for equality, and reducing the divisive rhetoric pervasive in today's political landscape.

By signing this petition, you encourage our Democratic elected officials to take this voluntary pledge of non-participation in the Medinah Country Club event as a form of symbolic protest and to foster unity within our community.

Please sign and help us stand together for peace, solidarity, and a vision of public service rooted in respect and inclusion.
