Urge CPS to Reconsider Placing Children Back into Their Biological Families

The Issue

As a mother who has experienced the heartbreak of having my children wrongfully taken away from me, I am raising this petition to urge Child Protective Services (CPS) and Juvenile Courts to reconsider their policies. My children's needs were overlooked, and my fight for them in court was ignored. This is not just my story; it is a reality faced by many biological families across the country.

In 2019 alone, over 672,000 children spent time in U.S. foster care systems (source: AFCARS Report). While foster care can provide a safe haven for some children, it should not be the only option considered when biological parents are fighting tirelessly for their rights and have proven they can provide a loving home.

The current system often fails to consider the potential emotional trauma inflicted on these children due to separation from their biological families. Research shows that maintaining familial ties where possible can significantly benefit a child's mental health (source: American Psychological Association).

We call upon CPS and Juvenile Courts to review their policies regarding family reunification. They must ensure that every case is thoroughly examined with an emphasis on preserving family bonds where appropriate and safe.

Please sign this petition if you believe in justice for families like mine who are striving hard to regain custody of their loved ones. Let us remind CPS and Juvenile Courts about the importance of keeping families together whenever possible.
