Urge county officials to maintain our subdivision properly
Urge county officials to maintain our subdivision properly
The Issue
We live directly across from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) headquarters, yet the irony is that our subdivision is neglected. Despite being neighbors to VDOT, we face uncut grass and improperly maintained roads. We find ourselves doing the county’s work in mowing grass simply because if we don't, it remains an eyesore.
The roads in our area are patched up repeatedly rather than being resurfaced, which results in quick degradation. The perpetual cycle of patching doesn't hold up and affects our daily commutes. This is not just a matter of aesthetics; poor road conditions can lead to vehicle damage and increased safety risks.
Moreover, the absence of street lights in our subdivision creates an environment that is both unsafe and inconvenient. Street lighting is essential for visibility, safety, and the overall well-being of our community. Without it, our evenings are cloaked in darkness, deterring outdoor activities and heightening safety concerns.
We deserve better. Our community pays taxes, and we should see a return in the form of adequately maintained public utilities and infrastructure. We call on the county to take immediate action to regularly mow grass, implement a long-term fix for the roads, and install adequate street lighting.
By signing this petition, you urge our county officials to prioritize and address these pressing issues that directly impact our quality of life. Let's work together to bring about the change our neighborhood deserves. Please sign and share this petition today.
