We have already gathered over 1,000 signatures—both digitally and in hard copy—but we need your voice to make history. Our mission is to see that H.R. 1437 and S. 2487, a bipartisan bill introduced on July 28, 2025, become a reality. This legislation aims to recognize the Buffalo Soldiers and U.S. Colored Troops by awarding them the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian honor in the United States.

These brave men and one documented female fought with valor for freedom, justice, and the ideals that define our nation. From battling on the frontlines to protecting the homeland, their contributions have helped shape America and paved the way for future generations. Despite their integral role, their bravery and sacrifices have not been sufficiently recognized or honored by the country they served so fearlessly.

The Congressional Gold Medal would not only honor their incredible legacy but also ensure their story is preserved for generations to come. This recognition will serve as a powerful reminder of their undying commitment to the nation's core values.

In a divided age, H.R. 1437 and S. 2487 stand as bipartisan testimony to the fundamental ideals of justice and equality. These bills remind us that the sacrifices of these courageous men and one documented female have laid the foundation for the freedoms we enjoy today. Let us come together to honor their legacy and ensure future generations remember their contributions to our great nation.

We urge Congress and the Senate to pass these bills without delay and finally acknowledge the Buffalo Soldiers and U.S. Colored Troops' heroic service. By signing this petition, you are lending your voice to a cause that seeks to make history.
