Urge companies to offer a Payroll Giving Scheme in their workplace

Urge companies to offer a Payroll Giving Scheme in their workplace
The Issue
As representatives of charities and stakeholders passionate about enhancing lives by facilitating the most effective means of giving, we firmly believe in the power and efficiency of Payroll Giving.
Payroll Giving or Give As You Earn (GAYE) as it is also known, is a tax-efficient way for employees in the UK to contribute towards charitable causes they deeply care about. For example a £10 donation would only cost a 20% tax payer £8!
Through Payroll Giving, not only does the donor receive a tax deduction immediately on their donation, but charities also benefit from a reliable source of income enabling them to plan better for the future. Employers enhance their Corporate Social Responsibility profile and demonstrate their commitment to causes your employees care about, which is shown to aide staff recruitment and retention, and improve morale.
This scheme is a win-win for all parties involved – the employee, the employer, the charity, and ultimately, those who most need our support.
But despite the substantial benefits for donors and charities alike, the number of employers offering Payroll Giving has decreased by 15% since 2015/16, meaning thousands of PAYE employees are missing out on the chance to give tax-efficiently.
We want to make sure every PAYE employee can access the tax relief available to them when giving to charity.
By signing this petition, you are lending your voice to urge all UK employers to adopt this tax-efficient, simple, and flexible scheme, thereby facilitating an easy way for millions to support causes that matter most to them.
