Urge Clallam County Onsite Septic Department to Support The Beaver Grocery Store

Urge Clallam County Onsite Septic Department to Support The Beaver Grocery Store
The Issue
Our beloved and historic community business, The Beaver Grocery Store in Beaver, Washington, is under threat. This store has been more than just a place to buy groceries; it's where we make memories and bring joy and healthy food to our families. We are deeply rural unincorporated and fighting a battle that could force us to close our doors. We are not asking for donations, just support and signatures from our community.
Despite following all guidelines and requests from the Clallam County Health Department, the office of Onsite Septic Department, remain unwilling to work with us towards finding a solution that would financially allow us to stay in business while we transition towards a new septic system. Unfortunately, according to the "opinion" of a Clallam County Health Officer from Onsite Septic Department, deems our non-failing septic system "might fail" By this opinion, The Beaver Store is being dismantled, unable to expand growth and had to cut employee hours due to loss revenue.
Rural communities like ours often face challenges when it comes to infrastructure development (USDA Economic Research Service). It's crucial for local authorities like the Clallam County Onsite Septic Department not just enforce regulations but also support businesses in their efforts towards compliance. With the continued road blocks we face at the County level, we are not sure how much longer we can hang on.
We urge you all – residents of Beaver and beyond – let's stand together for The Beaver Grocery Store. Let’s call on the Clallam County Onsite Septic and Health Department for cooperation and support during this challenging time. We are asking Clallam County to work together for a financially fitting temporary solution that works for everyone. Please sign this petition today!
