Urge Citylink Scotland to Add a New Bus Stop, or re-site existing stop on Route 902

The Issue

The 902 bus route run by Citylink Scotland between Glasgow and Edinburgh Airport appears to omit an essential local stop for Whitburn & Heartlands residents.

As part of it's current route towards Glasgow, there is a bus stop at Heartlands Business Park, the next stop is Greenrigg/ Harthill, completely bypassing the far more densely populated areas of Whitburn & Heartlands. The route to Edinburgh Airport from Glasgow will no doubt mirror the stopping arrangements going in the other direction.

Whilst the Heartlands Services bus stop has been a superb addition to the local area, similar to Harthill, it is sited at what is primarily a Services area for the Motorway and doesn't have residential housing closeby. The majority of people currently using the bus stop at Heartlands Services area endure a long walk to get to and from the bus stop.

The areas of Whitburn & Heartlands who do not currently have a convenient bus stop for the 902 bus, have a population in the region of 12K. This compares unfavourably with the areas of Greenrigg/ Harthill with a combined population of around 2.5K, who both appear to have a bus stop for the 902.

We would like to request that an additional bus stop is incorporated into the route to serve the communities of Whitburn & Heartlands, alternatively we would like to have the existing Heartlands Services bus stop re-sited to be closer to residential areas.

The lack of an additional bus stop between Heartlands Business Park and Greenrigg/Harthill means many commuters have to walk long distances or find alternative transportation methods.

The addition of a new bus stop, or the re-siting of the existing bus stop would greatly improve accessibility and convenience for these local communities.

This petition calls upon Citylink Scotland to review the existing 902 route/timetable ahead of publication of their "Spring/Summer" timetable with consideration for adding an additional bus stop, or re-siting the existing bus stop in this area. By doing so, they can enhance their service delivery while also catering more effectively to the needs of local residents.

Please sign this petition if you agree that Citylink Scotland should make public transportation more accessible in Whitburn and Bathgate by adding a new, or re-siting the existing bus stop on Route 902.
