The Issue

I, like many in our community, am deeply invested in the safety of Broadview Heights. A critical aspect of this safety is the support of our first responders. They are the ones protecting us, putting out fires, saving lives, ensuring we sleep soundly at night. Unfortunately, they're lacking a vital resource: a fully equipped fire station.

The absence of an adequate fire station affects us all. It’s an issue that can change response times, potentially increase the risk of property damage, and can put unnecessary strain on first responders. According to the National Fire Protection Association, having a fully equipped, modern fire station can cut response times significantly and even reduce fire-related injuries and fatalities by up to 30% (NFPA, 2019).

Our community's safety, the wellbeing of our first responders, and Broadview Height's future are intertwined in this situation. We need our city council to understand the importance and urgency of this matter. Through this petition, we're pushing for them to vote yes to funding the construction of a new fire station.

Let's unite to provide our first responders with the tools they need to succeed. Let's give them a new fire station, for the peace of mind of us all and the future of Broadview Heights. Please, sign this petition to encourage city council to make the right decision.
