MERRITT ISLAND- Let’s talk about the future of our local medical hub.

As the developer works to solve traffic concerns, their focus is on the corner of 2400 & 2404 N. Courtenay Pkwy as a potential solution for a new signaled entrance.

Here is the community perspective:

• A Complex Situation: These buildings (Merritt Medical Center II) are commercial condos, meaning they are owned by several different local medical groups and professionals. This isn't just one "lot"—it's a collection of established local practices, including Complete Care, Riverside Family Health, The Same Day Surgery Center, and Merritt Island Foot & Ankle.

• Vital Local Services: These offices provide essential primary care, specialized surgery, and wellness services right in the heart of our neighborhood. Having these doctors nearby is a major convenience for all of us, and many of these practices have been here for decades.

• The "Access" Question: We are concerned that if this project moves forward by acquiring or demolishing these buildings for a road entrance, we lose more than just land—we lose easy access to the doctors and professionals we know and trust.

We want our local medical community to know how much we appreciate having them here.

As we look toward the May 7th meeting, let’s keep the conversation focused on what’s best for the long-term character and needs of Merritt Island.
