Urge Blount Fine Foods To Pull Out of Anti-LGBT NOM Event

The Issue

AWESOME UPDATE - MAJOR! - Mike Airhart over at Truth Wins Out that Blount Fine Foods is NO LONGER supporting the anti-marriage crowd over at NOM.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Please discontinue signing this petition. If you'd like, please feel free to send a thank you letter to Blounts Fine Foods for backing out as major supporters of the NOM event this coming Sunday, August 16th. You can send your email to info@blountfinefoods.com.

Thanks again everyone. Your actions HAVE made a difference.

-----------------

As we saw with Tim Hortons Doughnut company, online organizing can do wonders. Within 24 hours Tim Hortons announced today that they pulled out of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) fundraiser as a sponsor of the event this coming Sunday, August 16th.

Well it turns out, Blount Fine Foods is also a sponsor of the event as noted by Truth Wins Out. Who is Blount Fine Foods, you ask? They not only are a prominent fine foods manufacturer (mostly but definitely not limited to the Northeast and mostly in the arena of soups) out of Massachusetts that repackage and retail under the names "Blount Fine Foods, Legal Sea Foods, and Panera Bread."

Please sign this petition (and of course pass it along to your friends) which will be sent directly to the organization asking them to disinterest and distance themselves from the hateful organization named NOM.

D APetition StarterI worked my tail off to help get Pres. Obama elected, and to have Prop 8 rejected (clearly that part was unsuccessful). I have my BA in Political Science and would like to return to school to pursue my Master's in Social Work and a JD in a dual program from San Diego State University and Cal-Western School of Law. Despite being single, and 39 years old, I believe that it is important for me to fight for marriage equality not only here in California, but also on the national level. I know that there will come a day when I find Mr. Right again, and would like our family to be recognized by our government as a true family unit free from the current institutionalized discrimination ingrained in our government.
