There were numerous speakers at the BoE meeting on 1/15 who spoke in support of the grant submission for food scrap recycling program and the importance of such an initiative, including HS students. Unfortunately, the Board chose not to even discuss the grant. There is still time to submit the grant, with community volunteers ready to help, but we need the BCSD Administration and Board to agree to submit it. 

Unfortunately, if we cannot secure funding for next year, the schools currently running pilot food scrap programs will not be able to continue and the other schools that want to participate will also not be able to do so.

The good news is that we have surpassed 300 signatures!  So keep sharing this petition and let the Board know directly that they should not ignore our pleas and they should pursue grant funding and support the funding of a Food Scrap Recycling program!
