The image today shows the introduction to one of the crowdfunding efforts to raise match funding for the 3G football pitch in Snaith, intended to serve Snaith, Goole and local communities. According to that page (https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/the-snaith-school the Football Foundation was providing a significant amount of the funding but required the local community to also raise a substantial sum. This raises the question as to why money offered to develop Goole Town Centre is being allocated to another 3G football pitch for Goole so soon after one was installed with significant fundraising efforts locally to achieve it? Especially when this second 3G pitch as currently configures involves removing the 400m running track at the VPG. There are no other such running tracks closer than Doncaster and Hull, and it is the only such track in the East Riding.

The “Hospitality Venue” is an odd choice for VPG in the context of reinvigorating the town centre - a more logical place for it would be the town centre itself. How about reinvigorating the Arcade and surrounding buildings? 

Add in the unsuitability of the streets around VPG for current traffic levels - single track streets, blind corners, heavy pressure on parking - and it becomes ever harder to see what the rationale for this expensive aspect of the Town Deal plans.
