Thank you to everyone who has signed so far.

Among the comments people have made to me recently, some have been about the figures put forward for business cases. Regarding VPG for example, a number of people have said that they think the 66,000 figure for future usage of VPG, up from the current 13,500, is pure fantasy (I asked for the projection from GTC in the spring - they still haven’t replied even though the Information Commissioner’s Office has issued a public rebuke for not replying to FoI requests on the Town Deal).

As already mentioned previously, nobody around the VPG seems to have been consulted about the consequences of such increased use - car parking, traffic on streets not suited to such levels of use, pollution, noise. Could that be because the figures are indeed a fantasy? But if they are, is it responsible behaviour to invite businesses to risk their viability running operations in a hospitality venue based on fantasy figures? Is it responsible behaviour to be spending public money on a project that cannot bring the return on investment forecast and will therefore become a white elephant and further burden on the public purse?

Time will tell, but the above has much wider implications for Goole thgan just the residents around VPG.
