REQUEST FOR WORKSHOP
After a discussion, with the City Attorney, and input from the Northeast Regional Planning Council the following is provided to the several individuals who have asked for a workshop to answer questions and discuss the proposed Concrete Batch Plant. Neither state statutes nor the City’s Land Development Code requires a workshop prior to an application submittal. The public will have ample opportunity to express their concerns and ask questions about the application at both the Planning and Zoning Board public hearing and City Commission public hearing. Staff responsibility is to ensure the proposed project meets the appropriate zoning requirements, once this is determined, the entire package is submitted to the Northeast Florida Planning Council for review and compliance with the City’s LDC. Once approved, it is submitted to the Planning and Zoning Board for consideration. Staff does not have any background on the project, other than what they have obtained through the submittal process, and therefore would not be able to answer questions or discuss the proposed project.
