Another blow to democracy in NZ and to flood protection for Pinehaven! 75 people were ignored by a joint-Council committee yesterday. 30 people representing Pinehaven community (photo in the Council Chamber) took time out yesterday to attend a 4.30pm meeting of the Hutt Valley Flood Management Subcommittee of the Greater Wellington Regional Council. We came to speak with them about our concerns about the Pinehaven flood model which is providing NO FLOOD PROTECTION for Pinehaven. We read out the names of another 45 local people supporting us but who were unable to attend this Committee meeting. Our message was totally ignored.
