Council claims its 100-year flood map is correct because it roughly matches the 1976 flood.  It doesn't - just look at this Fendalton Crescent map!  Besides, the 1976 flood was not a 100-year event but a 500-3,000 year flood according to a very experienced hydrological expert.

In Fendalton Crescent, several eyewitnesses disagree with Council's flood map showing their properties flooded in the 1976 flood. It didn't happen. It only flooded down the road, not on their properties. Council did not 'ground-truth' their flood map against 1976 eye-witness accounts of the biggest flood in Pinehaven residents' living memory.

An inflated flood model means Pinehaven has no flood protection. We'll explain in later posts why this is a lethal problem for Pinehaven.  Support our petition to Council to fix the Pinehaven flood model and provide flood protection for Pinehaven.
