I am a transgender individual, and so are many of my friends. We live in a society where our rights to self-determination, particularly regarding our bodies, are often questioned or outright denied. This is not only an infringement on our personal freedoms but also a violation of basic human rights.

Transgender people make up approximately 0.6% of the adult population in the United States (according to the Williams Institute), yet we face disproportionate rates of discrimination and violence. It's time for this to change.

We call upon lawmakers and societal leaders to recognize and uphold transgender rights, particularly when it comes to personal decisions about our bodies. These decisions should be respected as they are for any other citizen – free from interference or judgment.
