Uphold the Sentencing for the Murderer of Xavier Castro

The Issue

Xavier Castro was a 14 yr old young boy full of potential, a budding  sports star and a beloved elder son. He was stolen from us senselessly, his vibrant presence taken away for no reason way to soon , tearing a hole in the fabric of our family and depriving us of the future joy that Xavier would have brought.

Xavier's heartless murderer was sentenced by the Supreme Court of San Bernardino County to serve 45 years without parole  - a punishment that will never come close to the permanent irreplaceable loss our family and the community of Colton, California has suffered. We were notified right before Christmas that the murderer was given a parole hearing Jan 15th due to a new law giving "CONSIDERATION  to inmates who committed crimes under the age of 18,  however we, the people of Colton, stand firm on the assurance that this Murderers sentence remains upheld to serve 45 yrs to life , for 1 count of Murder, 1 count of attempted Murder with a firearm at the age of 14,  we need and deserve some justice for Xavier along with peace and safety for our grieving hearts.

The national statistics ring loud - a large number of the convicted murderers often face parole and sometimes even early release due to various reasons, taking the pain of the victims' family into little consideration (Source: Bureau of Justice Statistics). Such practices of insufficient justice delivery are a slap to the trauma of many families like ours and a threat to the safety of many communities.

We urge everyone who believes in upholding justice and cherishing the value of innocent lives lost to join us in this plea. Join us in making sure the sentence for Xavier Castro's murderer stays upheld, confirming that Xavier's life was not taken in vain, and that no other family will suffer the same uncertainty. Please, sign this petition.
