Uphold the Incarceration of Eddie Arnold Hicks for Manslaughter

The Issue

This petition is deeply personal and rooted in a tragic event. A dispute over free firewood and property damage led to an altercation between two men, Eddie Hicks and Barry Bellestri. The exchange escalated resulting in both men throwing a single punch each. However, the situation took a deadly turn when Eddie Hicks shot Barry Bellestri three times, including once in the back, killing him right before his 13-year-old son's eyes.

Eddie Hicks was rightfully convicted of manslaughter and felony firearm by an impartial jury. Despite this just verdict, his family seeks to appeal the sentence on account of his age (76 years old) and health issues. Yet we must not forget that justice has been served for Barry Bellestri's untimely death.

We understand that age and health can be mitigating factors in some cases but let us remember that justice should be blind to these considerations when faced with such heinous acts as murder. We must stand firm against any attempts to undermine this verdict or diminish its significance.

We urge you to join us in our plea for justice - uphold the incarceration of Eddie Arnold Hicks! Please sign this petition today!
