The heartbreaking plight of Heaven's family is a stark reminder of an alarming issue that prevails in our society: violence against women. In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital, too many stories like that of Heaven are either suppressed or overlooked. It is reported that nearly 60% of women in Ethiopia have suffered physical or sexual violence, most of it from their intimate partners (Ethiopian Demographic and Health Survey). These horrific numbers indicate an urgent need for an intervention.
