As a parent who visits Alexandra Park in Hastings regularly with my children, I've witnessed firsthand the decline of our play park facilities. Like many others, we frequent this once vibrant haven all year round, sharing it with locals and visitors alike. However, what was once a place of laughter and fun is now becoming a source of concern.

The existing play equipment's age and condition have made it unappealing and, frankly, boring for our children. They've lost the excitement that should come with their playtime. More troubling, the flooring has deteriorated to unsafe levels, causing many young children, including my own, to trip and hurt themselves during what should be a carefree outing.

Adding to the dismay, there's a scarcity of varied play options, which doesn't cater to the diverse interests and imaginative minds of our children and those who are disabled. One swing and round about is not enough!. Alexandra Park is a beloved community space, cherished for its role in promoting outdoor play and social interaction. But without urgent intervention, this once-thriving area could become neglected and underused.

We urgently need Hastings Council to prioritise upgrading the Alexandra Park play area. Modern, safe equipment and diverse play structures would revitalise this space, encouraging children to be active and creative.

Let's enhance the park, ensuring it continues to serve as a vital community resource for current and future generations. Alexandra Park's play area deserves our attention for the well-being and happiness of our children.
