Hello everyone,
I wanted to give you an update on the campaign to fix the Narangba rail crossing.
This week, I met with Terry Young, and I’m pleased to say he’s very aware of the problem — and just as frustrated with it as the rest of us. He actually used to live in Narangba, so he knows that intersection all too well.
Terry is looking into organising a town meeting at the hall right near the crossing, with the aim of bringing along some councillors, the Transport Minister, Shane King, and of course he’ll be there too. As soon as that’s confirmed, I’ll share the details so you can attend and make your voices heard.
Terry is also keeping the lines of communication open with me, and even raised the intersection directly with the Transport Minister during a meeting Tuesday morning. The good news is that all levels of government are aware about this issue. The bad news is… nothing’s been done yet. It still feels like it’s sitting in the “too hard” basket — which is exactly why we need to keep pushing.
On a practical note, Shane King’s office is now a drop-off point for signed council-approved petitions. He’ll also have printed copies available for you to collect. You can also download and print the petition here:

Shane King’s office details:
📍 Shop 4
232 Young Road
NARANGBA QLD 4504
🕒 Open Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 4:30pm
If you can, please fill in your details, get four more people to sign (each page fits five names), and return it to Shane King’s office. You can print as many pages as you like and take them to BBQs, school pick-up, sporting events — anywhere you can gather more signatures. Every page makes a difference.
And don’t forget — while the Change.org petition isn’t officially recognised by council, it’s still incredibly valuable for getting attention. We’re now at 3,500 signatures, which is amazing, but I’d love to see it grow even more. Please keep sharing this link far and wide:

Thank you so much for your ongoing support. We are being heard — now we need to turn that into action.
Warm regards,
Haley
