Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you so much for your ongoing support—every single signature and share has made a huge difference in moving this issue forward. I wanted to give you an update:

I now have a meeting scheduled for August 5th with both Mark Booth and Acting Councillor Tony Latter to discuss our petition and hopefully progress this issue further. This is a big step forward, and it’s thanks to all of you for helping raise awareness.

As this petition grows, I really need more hands on deck. I’m a mum of three and run two businesses, working most nights and several days a week—so my plate is pretty full. If you’re passionate about fixing these intersections as much as I am, I’d love your help. Here are some ways you can get involved:

✅ Signage: The previous community signs were removed. After speaking with Shane King, I learned signs need to be at least 20 meters from the intersection, and signs on power poles will be removed. If anyone can help design, print, or put up new signs, that would be amazing.

✅ Sharing: Keep sharing the petition and encourage your friends, family, and workmates to sign. Every signature counts!

✅ Dashcam Footage & Reports: If you’ve seen or been involved in accidents at these intersections or the rail crossing, please share dashcam footage or police reports with me. I’m compiling evidence to demonstrate how serious the safety issue is. 

To give you an idea of how urgent this is—people within council have told me this is possibly the worst intersection in all of Moreton Bay and even Brisbane. It has been looked at for more than 10 years but likely put in the “too hard basket” because of the tricky layout. However, with population growth and the upcoming Cross River Rail increasing train frequency, this problem will only get worse if nothing is done.

For now, I’m keeping meetings friendly and collaborative—I believe we can make progress without needing to raise our voices just yet. This is about solutions, not arguments.
