Upgrade School iPads for Improved Learning at Keswick Christian School

The Issue

My personal story is one shared by many--the iPad provided by my school is so slow that it makes completing schoolwork a frustrating ordeal. Across the country, numerous students face a similar issue. According to a survey from Pearson Education in 2018, about 53% of 4th and 5th graders are using school-issued devices. Among them, many report significant issues with device performance, impacting their studying experiences negatively (Source: Pearson Education).

The slow pace and outdated technology of these iPads do not allow school applications to open swiftly and can even cause the device to freeze when running multiple applications, which is often necessary for diverse assignments. Technology should enhance learning, not be a barrier to it. When our educational tools are not functioning properly, it directly impacts the quality of our learning and our ability to effectively complete assignments.

Change is needed, and we are those who can bring about this change. The suppliers must be held responsible for providing devices that meet the actual needs of students. By improving the quality of the devices, we can streamline digital learning, making it easier for us students while improving our engagement with educational materials and enhancing our overall academic performance.

The way they fix the IPads is a scandal. if your iPad breaks they charge roughly $500. I found the same iPad at best buy for $90. They are gaining way too much money for a school that costs 13,000 a year.

Please, sign this petition to advocate the upgrade of schools' iPads, it's time for our digital learning tools to fit the 21st-century student's needs.
