Queen's Park is a flagship park used by the communities of Shawlands, Strathbungo, Govanhill, Battlefield, Langside and Pollokshields to name a few.

There are currently many pieces of unsafe play equipment in the Queen's Park north play area . Equipment is patched up or removed when beyond repair.

Aside from urgent repairs, there is poor separation of equipment by age group.

Toddlers, primary school pupils and teenagers use the same equipment.

There is no inclusive play equipment for disabled children. For children under three, there are no safe climbing structures or chutes.

The surfacing is also in poor condition and needs replaced.

Glasgow City Council have an additional £1.5m parks and open spaces funding for the coming financial year from the Scottish Government.

If pro-rata allocation for Southside Central is similar to last year, that would be around £70,000.

We want this spent on resurfacing and new play equipment in Queen's Park.
