COURT VERDICT TO BE HANDED DOWN 

Today the Judgment regarding the Court case between Liverpool Council and the Minister for Local Government will be handed down at 4.15pm. 

I will be heading into the city this  afternoon to attend the Court Hearing as the Livestream is limited and I have missed out before. 

THIS VERDICT COULD DETERMINE IF THE LIVER COUNCIL ELECTION IS STILL PROCEEDING OR NOT 

I have passed on your comments to the Minister for Local Government and the Office of Local Government together with comments from Facebook made by various people. 

SOME EXAMPLES of Objections to the Court Case  

COMMENT 1 

Is this going to cost tax payers money? Is our money that we pay council to maintain the areas going towards this fight? If so sorry but I rather you walk away?  

Edmondson park is discusting! I bought in this area believing it would be a great area to raise my kids instead we have barely any parks, schools only just built, roads not completed, sidewalks in progress for years, grass overgrown and rubbish everywhere. It's a disgrace!  

How about we stop spending money on political bullshit and start working on doing what your meant to...serving the people and giving them safe and clean places to live. We already pay so much yet see nothing for it. 

I don't care who is in liberal/labor. I rather see a council that takes care of its area and majority of suburbs in the Liverpool lga are overgrown and filthy. 

COMMENT 2 

We do not want our tax money to be used to pay for your fight, please walk away for better future. We all know how good the Liverpool council been performing compared to other councils. Stop this madness and walk away. 

COMMENT 3 

Action speaks louder than words, use the money to fix Edmondson Park and you have my vote, not by spending it in legal fees. When I moved here 2018 we were given a map of all these parks, walking tracks etc that they were going to build here, there was supposed to be a post office and other shops built on the land next to Aldi and nothing has happened. In a community of mainly young families we  have 2 average parks. While we see other councils in our surrounding areas are building water parks, great kids parks and many facilities free for the community. All we see are plans and no action. 

COMMENT 4 

This council is nothing but disgusting. Office is corrupted and needs to be investigated and whoever involved are made accountable. If you want to challenge, use your own money - not ours. There was another incident (ref news report) where Mayor paid 50K or something like that for another Court case. We the rate payers are not cash milking cow. If you have that level of confidence, put for a voting here itself and you can see the level of support you get. For the benefit of people in Liverpool area, please get out of the office. We will thank you and your mates for it for the rest of the life... 😠
