Good Morning Fellow Residents, Commuters and Petition Supporters

After my email to various MP’s and Ministers I received one reply from the Office of Rob Stokes Minister for Planning which you can read below. Unfortunately I have not heard back from Paul Lynch MP for Liverpool or Peter Sidgreaves MP for Camden regarding a meeting with them.

There are a number of links within the letter that provide more detailed information.

Dear Mr Andjelkovic

Thank you for your correspondence to the Hon. Rob Stokes MP, Minister for Planning and Public Spaces, regarding Fifteenth Avenue. The Minister asked me to respond on his behalf.

The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (the Department) notes your concerns about traffic congestion on Fifteenth Avenue. Fifteenth Avenue is identified as one of the Rapid Bus Corridors, as part of the rapid bus public transport connections between the Western Sydney Airport (Airport), the Aerotropolis and key centres, including Liverpool, Penrith and Campbelltown-Macarthur. The plans for rapid bus public transport connections forms part of the Western Parkland City Deal, an agreement signed by all levels of government that will deliver a range of commitments to support growing communities in the area.

Also known as the Fifteenth Avenue Smart Transit (FAST) corridor, Fifteenth Avenue will be the public transport connection to Liverpool. The Department and Liverpool City Council continue to work together, so transport connections between the Airport and the Aerotropolis will be in place when the Airport opens in 2026.

The draft Western Sydney Aerotropolis Precinct Plan (draft Plan) identifies the section of Fifteenth Avenue that is part of the Rapid Bus Corridor for widening to 45m. The Transport Planning and Modelling Report (Report), that was prepared to support the Draft Plan, further recognises that widening this section of Fifteenth Avenue should be in place to support the Stage 1 phase of development in the Aerotropolis. More information about the Fifteenth Avenue Rapid Bus Corridor is available on page 93 of the draft Plan at //shared-drupal-s3fs.s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/master-test/fapub_pdf/00+-+Planning+Portal+Exhibitions/Western+Syd+Aero+Planned+Precincts+/WSAPP+new/WesternSydneyAerotropolis_PrecinctPlanningReport_v9.pdf, and pages 242-243 of the Report at //shared-drupal-s3fs.s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/master-test/fapub_pdf/00+-+Planning+Portal+Exhibitions/Western+Syd+Aero+Planned+Precincts+/WSAPP+/Draft+Western+Sydney+Aerotropolis+Transport+Planning+and+Modelling+Stage+2+Report+-+for+exhibition.pdf.

The draft Western Sydney Aerotropolis Precinct Planning package was on public exhibition from December 2020 until 12 March 2021. The Western Sydney Planning Partnership (Partnership) is now carefully reviewing all submissions received during the exhibition and will consider all issues raised in detail prior to finalising the draft precinct planning package for the Aerotropolis.
