Upgrade Diery Street Warwick between glen road and little warner st to a Two-Lane Road.

Upgrade Diery Street Warwick between glen road and little warner st to a Two-Lane Road.

The issue

Diery Street in Warwick, QLD, between Glen Road and Little Warner Street has been a growing concern for local residents, including myself. This section of Diery Street is a crucial connector road within our residential area, linking homes to Bracker Road and Mardon Roads. However, its current single-lane structure with narrow shoulders has been increasingly problematic.

The primary concern is the increased risk of rear-end crashes and other accidents due to the limited road width and minimal shoulder space. As this street accommodates a significant amount of local traffic, it is not uncommon to witness close calls and minor accidents that could easily be prevented with necessary upgrades. Transforming this stretch of Diery Street from a single to a double-lane road could dramatically improve safety conditions. we see the need for sdrc warwick to upgrade the remaining section of diery st between glen road and little warner st to match with the wider sections of diery st between willi st and little warner st and glen road and backer road to improve safety and reduce crashes.
The solution is not out of reach. A road expansion project in this area would widen the lanes and provide ample shoulders, allowing for safer passage of cars and bicycles alike. These upgrades would also enhance traffic flow, reducing congestion during peak hours and accommodating the growth of our community moving forward.

We urge the Southern Downs Regional Council (SDRC) to prioritize this upgrade for the benefit of all Warwick residents. By committing to this crucial infrastructure project, they can ensure our roads are safe and capable of handling increased traffic demands as Warwick continues to grow.
