Right now, Oquirrh Mountain Girls Softball (Utah’s largest girls’ softball league) has to turn away hundreds of girls every year because there simply isn’t enough space to play. Centennial Park only has 3 fields with no lights, which limits us to just 6 games per weeknight.
A quad field with lights can host up to 12 games per night.
CR Hamilton can handle 17 games in a single evening.
Even adding one more field or installing lights at Centennial would open opportunities for so many girls who are currently left out. It’s heartbreaking to tell a young athlete she can’t play softball with her friends — especially when she sees investments going to other areas, like skateparks.
Meanwhile, the city is considering spending $1–1.5 million to relocate a skatepark — and they can’t even say how many people use it. We already have a thriving community and program at Centennial that is begging to expand. The need is clear: don’t move the skatepark to Centennial — give the park what it really needs.

Upgrade Centennial fields, add lights, and build an extra field.
