We, the undersigned, are members of the community who strongly support the conversion of two of the existing four tennis courts located at Miami Lakes Optimist Park Tennis Courts into multiple pickle ball courts.

Purpose: Pickle ball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, and there is a growing demand for more pickle ball courts in our area. By converting the current semi-converted tennis courts into multiple official pickle ball courts, we believe this will provide greater recreational opportunities for community members of all ages, enhance community engagement, and promote a healthier, more active lifestyle.

Why We Support This Petition:

1. High Demand for Pickle ball: Pickle ball is incredibly popular among community members, with many people actively seeking available courts to play. 
   
   
2. Pickle ball Nets, Not Tennis Nets: The existing nets on the courts are set up for pickle ball and are not suitable for tennis play. The current nets and court setup make it difficult, if not impossible, to use these courts for tennis. Converting these courts for pickle ball would ensure they are set up appropriately for this increasingly popular sport.
   
   
3. Inclusive Sport: Pickle ball is easy to learn, accessible for all ages, and promotes a sense of community, offering fun and fitness for people of all abilities.
   
   
4. Maximizing Space Usage: Converting the tennis courts would make the most of underused space and meet the growing demand for pickle ball courts, giving more people the chance to participate in this popular sport.
   
   
5. Positive Community Impact: More pickle ball courts will provide local residents a place to gather, socialize, and stay active, supporting overall well-being.

Request: We respectfully request that the City of Miami Lakes consider converting the current semi-converted tennis courts at the Miami Lakes Optimist Park into multiple pickle ball courts. We believe this change will address the current shortcomings in the available recreational spaces and provide a more suitable and inclusive environment for all community members.
