I am Iranian, and like millions of Iranians around the world, I am deeply affected by how my country and people are represented globally. During this historic revolutionary moment, many Iranians do not feel represented by the current regime’s symbols. The Lion and Sun flag represents Iran’s true cultural identity, history, and the voice of the people who are risking their lives for freedom. Seeing the current flag used on global platforms feels painful and disconnected from the reality we are living today. 

That's why I urge tech giants like Apple, the Unicode Consortium, and other major tech platforms to update the Iran flag emoji to reflect the Lion and Sun (Lion and Sword) symbol. This is not just a symbol; it is a representation of a culture, a history, and a present-day struggle for freedom and change.

The Lion and Sun symbol has been part of Iran's identity for centuries, representing resilience, courage, and independence. Throughout history, it has symbolized various revolutionary movements and the ongoing fight for dignity and justice. The current regime's flag, unfortunately, does not resonate with the millions who seek a free and representative Iran.

By updating the emoji to reflect this significant symbol, tech platforms can play a crucial part in acknowledging the fight of the Iranian people and the reality of the situation in Iran. It would also mean a lot to the Iranian diaspora who use these platforms as a way to communicate their identity, show solidarity, and bring awareness to their loved ones' struggle back home.

This change can help bridge the gap between the global digital world and the heart of Iranian culture and identity, promoting a symbol that truly represents the broader Iranian community and its aspirations.
