Nursing Home Residents NEED OUR VOICE

The Issue

UPDATE : WE ARE GIVING ONE MORE PUSH TO REACH OUR GOAL.

GOV ABBOTT MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT ON AUG 6TH INSINUATING THAT TEXAS NURSING HOMES ARE REOPENING, THAT'S NOT A TRUE STATEMENT!!

The guidelines of Phase 1 for nursing facilities are virtually impossible to attain by most nursing home . A facility must be CVOID Free for 14 days , along with weekly testing of patients and employees prior to consideration.

Homes cannot be CVOID FREE while they are continually moving CVOID patients into nursing facilities!

Basically... Some MAY NEVER see their loved ones ever again!!!  They aren't dying from CVOID, but from loneliness!

We are asking Gov Abbott to allow ONE ESSENTIAL FAMILY MEMBER into the home to check on and care for their loved ones. Following the same testing guidelines set forth for non employee visitors such as plumbers, IT techs, and food vendors.

As of today, still no inside visits are allowed unless the patient is actively dying!

This means, by Texas Gov rule and set forth by HHSC, a person can decline to the point of dying, but until they reach the very en , family cannot enter to be with the .

Our family members residing in nursing homes and residential facilities need our help.

Since CVOID19 reared its ugly head,  many of our loved ones, near and far,  have all but been forgotten. While initially placed on lockdown,  nursing homes worldwide have remained so,  to family members, even while their employees are allowed to live their lives. Dr's,  nurses and administrators have complete access to our families after visiting hair/nail salons,  grocery stores,  malls etc.,  yet we do not.

Family members and administrators alike have witnessed the failing physical and mental health of these residents due to the fact that they have no physical contact with their loved ones.  Some,  not even as much as a phone call.  Some residents feel as if they have been abandoned,  and they  are giving up on their "will to live."

They NEED OUR  VOICE  to reach the Governor and to demand that he make changes to the rules set forth during this pandemic.

Out family members need to know that they are loved,  wanted and needed in our lives as much as we are in theirs.

Please help support our cause.  Please sign this petition. Pass it along to your friends and family as well.  It may not save my mother,  but it could save thousands of others.
