Hello. My name is Chasidy Thornton. I’m representing the members of the Cricut consumer community who feel they have been taken advantage of.

I can’t list every problem that Cricut users have experienced but I am part of several crafting, Cricut and small business groups that have begun keeping a list of repetitive problems that have been brought to the attention of the Cricut support team but have not been addressed in a satisfactory fashion.

More specifically we’ve found Design Space sorely lacking. Design Space tends to generate notifications that your plugin has quit working or needs updating which results in the loss of whatever progress has been made on the project being worked on. After speaking with and reading many reviews it appears this project is not related specifically to a Mac or PC but appears on both. Many of the issues with Design Space seem to stem from the fact that it’s an internet based program.

Consumers spend more time trying to get through delays or plugin errors than creating our designs. We believe that asking Provo Craft and Novelty, Inc. to allow the consumer to use other software with the Cricut until Design Space issues have been resolved would make a good band-aid solution. Perhaps now would be a good time to design a software package that can be downloaded onto the crafter's computer. This would go a long way to alleviating the stress caused to your customers and be an excellent marketing point.
