This young woman (the name is currently hidden due to privacy issues), is an incoming freshman who in response to June 9th being declared "George Floyd Day" in Harris County, Texas commented, "Let's do meth, fentanyl, and use counterfeit money in order to celebrate." She later stated that she did not face any consequences as she presented her admission and scholarships to UofA on social media.

UofA admissions committee and Dean of Students should understand that students of all backgrounds should feel safe and such remarks instill fear as our feeling of safety is compromised significantly.

Please sign this petition to urge the UofA admissions committee to revoke her acceptance and scholarships so we can create and maintain a safe environment for all students at the UofA.
