Though H&M, Target, Marks & Spencer, Zara, Kiabi, and PVH have all publicly promised to pay for their in-production orders, no time commitment has been given to ensure that these payments reach garment makers before it is too late. Remake is hearing firsthand from factory owners and labor activists in Bangladesh that money has not yet been received from these brands and that brands are holding off payments for their orders, letting the clothing stay in warehouses, potentially until June or July. These payments will be too late for garment workers who are suffering now. Remake will continue to monitor brands that have promised to #PayUp to ensure their payments are being made in a timely manner.
