Student societies provide outlets outside of academic study. They not only attract students to York University, but provide vital intellectual, creative and physical pursuits in and around campus. YUSU, and the University of York prevent societies from marketing events, and advertising themselves through placing posters around campus. We believe that this is stifling creativity and throttling the reach of interest groups which provide much needed inspiration outside of one's degree study.
