In calculating student mandatory fees in the University of Wyoming's tuition, a $125 fee is assessed for "Intercollegiate Athletics".  In the University's FY 2021 Fee Book, the "Intercollegiate Athletics" fee is defined as: "The income is specified for the support of Intercollegiate Athletics, and provides full-time students with free admission to all University intercollegiate athletic events on campus, excluding tournament events."

In light of the Mountain West Athletics Conference postponing all Fall 2020 sports, the "Intercollegiate Athletics" fee should be removed from the mandatory student fees calculation as there will be no athletic events this Fall. If it is not removed, the University will be charging students for a service that is nonexistent.  Using Spring 2020 full-time student enrollment numbers (9033 students), the University will end up stealing approximately $1,129,125 (i.e., 9033 x $125) from full-time students in the Fall 2020 semester if the fee is not eliminated.
