On February 18th, 2021 the University of Toledo announced it's 3rd Virtual Graduation. According to their article this is due to "restrictions on large in-person gatherings" of which the students are completely understanding.

However, it is difficult for students who have paid $20,000, $30,000, $40,000+ to sit virtually for graduation when the University continues to allow for other in person events such as Football and Basketball games of equal or greater size. There have been proven methods to conduct commencement safely, with options of no family attendance, no audience for speeches, and cleanings in between the various colleges. This paired with mask wearing, outdoor commencement, and no handshakes, makes it hard for seniors to wrap their heads around the University's decision. 

We as students believe that this is unacceptable, and that a discussion must be had to ensure that students are not being left out of one of their most important accomplishments to date. Sign this petition if you believe that the University of Toledo needs to address their decision and listen to their students.
